This past October/November City Administrator Joshua Finch was contacted by the Mississippi River Regional Planning Commission informing him of potential funding through the EDA. Funding would be part of the Build Back Better Program. The Regional Planning Commission (RPC) was interested in developing a grant application and submitting it to the EDA on behalf of a number of cities. The RPC did put together a grant proposal on the behalf of the cities of Hillsboro, Monroe, and Platteville for WWTP improvements. The cities would have to hire Engineering Consultants to do the work. MSA was eligible to perform the work and submitted an application but unfortunately was not selected to receive the funding. The EDA in Chicago expressed interest in funding projects in Wisconsin through their Regular Program not the Build Back Better Program. MSA would submit an application to the EDA Regular Program not through the Build Back Better program.
