City Council Meeting

__________________________________________________________________________________ COMMON COUNCIL MINUTES Monday, March 21, 2022 The Common Council Meeting was called to order by Mayor Greg Kubarski on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 7:00 PM. All present rose and recited the Pledge of Alliance. Mayor Kubarski asked for affirmation of proper public notice to which City Clerk Sheila Schraufnagel confirmed the notice was properly posted. Roll call was taken with Alderpersons Darrow Novy, Garth Hitselberger, Thomas Hotek, Pat Moen, Elizabeth Parish, and Rick Hanke present. Mark Lankey and Randy Seeley were absent. Others in attendance were: City Administrator Joshua Finch, City Clerk Sheila Schraufnagel, Chief Patrick Clark, Leanne Beyer, Representative from Blue Highway Lodge, and Hillsboro Sentry Editor, Nicolette Nauman. Motion by Hanke, seconded by Moen to approve the February 21, 2022 Common Council Minutes. Motion carried. Motion by Hanke, seconded by Hitselberger to approve the monthly bills for payment. Motion carried. Discussion was held in regards to the City Pool and the proposals submitted for the Bath/Pool House re-roofing project. Motion by Novy, seconded by Hanke to approve the proposal submitted from Anderson Construction. Motion carried. Administrator Finch mentioned the replacement of the furnace and pool filter will need to be done in the future and incentives will need to be discussed for the seasonal pool employees. Motion by Hanke, seconded by Moen to approve the Sidewalk Use permits for Let’s Shine Coffee and The Good Samaritan Store. Motion carried. Hotek abstained. On March 8, 2022 the City of Hillsboro was informed that MSA Professional Services will no longer be administrating our CDBG Housing Revolving Loan Fund Program due to a change in staffing. The City will begin researching for a new CDBG Housing RLF Administrator. Motion by Hotek, seconded by Hitselberger to adjourn at 7:25 P.M. Motion carried.
