City Council Meeting

__________________________________________________________________________________ COMMON COUNCIL MINUTES Monday, July 18, 2022 The Common Council Meeting was called to order by Mayor Greg Kubarski on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 7:00 PM. All present stood and recited the Pledge of Alliance. Mayor Kubarski asked for affirmation of proper public notice to which City Clerk Sheila Schraufnagel replied, “Yes”. Roll call was taken with Alderpersons Leanne Beyer, Rick Hanke, Thomas Hotek, Mark Lankey, Patricia Moen, Darrow Novy, via phone Elizabeth Parish, and Randy Seeley present. Others in attendance were: City Administrator Joshua Finch, City Clerk Sheila Schraufnagel, Police Chief Patrick Clark, Alan Buss with the Vernon County Energy District, Mark Tallman with Wisconsin Economic Development, Allen Joseph, and Hillsboro Sentry Editor, Nicolette Nauman. Motion by Hanke, second by Beyer to approve the June 20, 2022 Common Council minutes. Motion carried. Alan Buss was present from Vernon County Energy District to inform the Council on the future of clean/renewable energy in Vernon County, the use of solar energy, and the benefits. Motion by Hotek, seconded by Novy to open the public hearing at 7:27 P.M. in regards to the Re-Zoning of 1078 Wood Avenue and 239 East Madison Street (Verbsky Properties, LLC). Motion carried. With no questions or concerns from the public a motion was made by Lankey, seconded by Beyer to close the public hearing at 7:29 P.M. Motion carried. Motion by Lankey, seconded by Moen to approve the monthly bills for payment. Motion carried. Mark Tallman with the Wisconsin Economic Development gave a presentation on the Connect Communities Program. The Connect Communities and Main Street Programs are a networking of community leaders interested in advancing economic and community growth, enhancing development, and revitalizing their downtowns. Motion by Hotek, seconded by Novy to approve Ordinance #4-2022 An Ordinance to Rezone Parcel 236-00747-0000 located at 1078 Wood Avenue from R-1 Single Family Residential to R-3 Multi-Family Residential and Parcel 236-00674-0000 located at 239 East Madison Street from I-1Industrial Park to R-3 Multi-Family Residential (Verbsky Properties, LLC). Motion carried. Motion by Hanke, seconded by Beyer to approve Operator License #20-2022. Motion carried. Motion by Hanke, seconded by Beyer to adjourn at 8:17 P.M. Motion carried.
