City Council Meeting

__________________________________________________________________________________ COMMON COUNCIL MINUTES Monday, December 19, 2022 The Common Council Meeting was called to order by Mayor Greg Kubarski on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 7:00 PM. All present stood and recited the Pledge of Alliance. Mayor Kubarski asked for affirmation of proper public notice to which City Clerk Sheila Schraufnagel replied, “Yes”. Roll call was taken with Alderpersons Leanne Beyer, Thomas Hotek, Patricia Moen, Darrow Novy, Elizabeth Parish, and Randall Seeley present. Rick Hanke and Mark Lankey were absent. Others in attendance were: City Administrator Joshua Finch, City Clerk Sheila Schraufnagel, Chief Patrick Clark, and Hillsboro Sentry Editor, Nicolette Nauman. Motion by Novy, seconded by Hotek to approve the November 21, 2022 Common Council minutes with amendment. Motion carried. Motion by Parish, seconded by Beyer to approve the monthly bills for payment. Motion carried. Motion by Novy, seconded by Moen to approve Conditional Use Permit Application for Jennifer Johnson for a Greenhouse and Garden Center with home décor goods at 102 Heights Road. Motion carried. Motion by Novy, seconded by Beyer to approve the Engagement Letter from Johnson Block and Company to perform Audit and Accounting Services for the City of Hillsboro for year ended December 31, 2022. Motion carried. Motion by Moen, seconded by Beyer to approve the Contractor’s Application for Payment No. 1 to Janke General Contractors, Inc. for the Baraboo Canoe/Kayak Launch Project in the amount of $89,062.50. Motion carried. Administrator Finch reported the Holiday Decorating Contest Results: 1st 729 Hill Avenue 2nd 713 Shear Avenue 3rd 623 Spring Street Administrator Finch reported Ethan Davidson’s internship ended in December. Motion by Hotek, seconded by Parish to adjourn at 7:16 A.M. Motion carried.
