City Council Meeting

__________________________________________________________________________________ COMMON COUNCIL MINUTES Monday, April 17, 2023 The Common Council Meeting was called to order by Mayor Greg Kubarski on Monday, April 17, 2023 at 7:00 PM. All present stood and recited the Pledge of Alliance. Mayor Kubarski asked for affirmation of proper public notice to which City Clerk Sheila Schraufnagel replied, “Yes”. Roll call was taken with Alderpersons Leanne Beyer, Richard Hanke, Thomas Hotek, Mark Lankey, Darrow Novy, Elizabeth Parish, and Randall Seeley present. Pat Moen was absent. Others in attendance were: City Administrator Joshua Finch, City Clerk Sheila Schraufnagel, Chief Patrick Clark, Officer Christopher Kucinsky, Officer Matthew Nundahl, Streets Dept. Mike Burch, Sidney Johnson, and Hillsboro Sentry Editor, Nicolette Nauman. Motion by Hanke, seconded by Beyer to approve the March 20, 2023 Common Council minutes. Motion carried. Mayor Kubarski issued a Mayoral Proclamation for Arbor Day (April 28, 2023). Motion by Lankey, seconded by Parish to approve the monthly bills for payment. Motion carried. Motion by Hotek, seconded by Novy to approve the Sidewalk Use Permit for Let’s Shine Coffee. Motion carried. Chief Patrick Clark promoted Office Christopher Kucinsky to Sergeant of the Hillsboro Police Department. Motion by Hanke, seconded by Beyer to hire Police Officer Matthew Nundahl. Motion carried. Clerk Schraufnagel administered the Oath of Office to Office Nundahl. Motion by Hanke, seconded by Lankey to approve the Pool Retention and Referral Bonus starting in 2024. Motion carried. Motion by Hotek, seconded by Hanke, to approve the Employee Gym Membership. Motion carried. Motion by Lankey, seconded by Novy to approve the hiring of City Pool Manager, Alesha Burch. Motion carried. Motion by Novy, seconded by Hanke to adjourn at 7:15 P.M. Motion carried.
