Committee of the Whole Meeting

__________________________________________________________________________________ COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MINUTES TUESDAY, July 12th, 2022 Mayor Greg Kubarski called the Committee of the Whole meeting to order at 7:01 PM on Tuesday, June 14th, 2022. Committee members present at the time the meeting was called to order were Rick Hanke, Leanne Beyer, Tom Hotek, Randy Seeley, Pat Moen, Darrow Novy, and Elizabeth Parish appeared via phone. Mark Lankey was absent. Others present included: City Administrator Josh Finch, Police Chief Pat Clark, Streets employee Mike Burch, Library Director Jackie Pysarenko, and Nicolette Nauman of the HSE. Mayor Kubarski asked if this meeting received proper public notice to which Finch confirmed that the meeting did receive proper notice. Motion by Hanke, second by Hotek, to approve the June 14th, 2022, Committee of a Whole meeting minutes. Motion carried. Safety and Welfare Chief Clark presented the Police Chief’s Report. Chief Clark noted that there were 179 total calls in the month of June. Chief Clark about a school grant he is working on. The Committee discussed the use of fireworks during the year, specifically 4th of July week and it was reiterated that any firework that leaves the ground is illegal in the City of Hillsboro. Improvements and Services Finch presented to the Committee an update regarding the Road Reconstruction Project. Finch provided an update about the pool. Library Director Pysarenko provided an update about the Library and some exterior updates they are pursuing. Finch provided an update about the train project. Alderperson Seeley recommended speaking with Basset Trucking about assisting with the transportation. Finance and Personnel The committee reviewed the bills and recommended the bills for Council approval on the next council meeting. Administrator Finch presented his administrator’s report.
