Committee of the Whole Meeting

__________________________________________________________________________________ COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MINUTES TUESDAY, December 12th, 2023 Mayor Greg Kubarski called the Committee of the Whole meeting to order at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023. Committee members present at the time the meeting was called to order were Tom Hotek, Rick Hanke, Randy Seeley, Pat Moen, Darrow Novy, Elizabeth Parish, and Leanne Beyer. Mark Lankey was absent. Others present included: City Administrator Josh Finch, Police Chief Pat Clark, Hillsboro Librarian Jackie Pysaranko, Streets employees Mike Burch, Nicolette Nauman of the Hillsboro Sentry Enterprise, and Alex McDonough. Mayor Kubarski asked if this meeting received proper public notice to which City Administrator Finch confirmed the meeting did receive proper notice. Motion by Hanke, second by Beyer, to approve the November 14th, 2023, Committee of a Whole meeting minutes. Motion carried. Safety and Welfare Chief Clark presented the Police Chief’s Report. Hillsboro Police Department received 180 calls in the previous month. Administrator Finch provided a review of the Ambulance Association Agreement. The Committee recommended the agreement for Council approval for the next council meeting. Improvements and Services Mayor Kubarski provided a brief update regarding the trains. City Administrator Finch provided an update regarding the holiday decorating contest. Finance and Personnel The committee reviewed the bills and recommended the bills for Council approval for the next council meeting. City Administrator Finch presented his monthly report. Motion to enter back into open session by Hanke, second by Beyer at 7:57 PM. Motion carried. Motion by Hotek, second by Hanke to adjourn at 7:57 PM. Motion carried.
