Committee of the Whole Meeting

__________________________________________________________________________________ COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MINUTES TUESDAY, February 13th, 2024 Mayor Greg Kubarski called the Committee of the Whole meeting to order at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February13th, 2024. Committee members present at the time the meeting was called to order were Tom Hotek, Rick Hanke, Randy Seeley, Pat Moen, Darrow Novy, Elizabeth Parish, and Leanne Beyer. Mark Lankey was absent. Others present included: City Administrator Josh Finch, Police Chief Pat Clark, Administrative Associate Sara McDonald, Hillsboro Library Director Jackie Pysarenko, Nicolette Nauman of the Hillsboro Sentry Enterprise. Mayor Kubarski asked if this meeting received proper public notice to which City Administrator Finch confirmed the meeting did receive proper notice. Motion by Hotek, second by Beyer, to approve the January 9th, 2024, Committee of a Whole meeting minutes. Motion carried. Safety and Welfare Chief Clark presented the Police Chief’s Report. Hillsboro Police Department received 136 calls in the previous month. Chief Clark reported that the hybrid squad previously ordered was cancelled, and reordered for a later date. Improvements and Services The Committee discussed further the uses of Ag land. The Committee recommended moving the ordinance for Council approval for the next council meeting. Finance and Personnel The committee reviewed the bills and recommended the bills for Council approval for the next council meeting. City Administrator Finch presented his monthly report. Motion by Moen, second by Hanke to enter closed session at 7:19 PM. Motion carried. Motion to enter back into open session by Hotek, second by Hanke at 8:20 PM. Motion carried.
