Mayor and Council Special Meeting Minutes
May 1, 2020 10:00 a.m.
The Special Meeting of the Municipal Council of the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus was held via teleconference on
May 1, 2020. The meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Mayor Randall who asked the Municipal
Clerk to read the open public meeting statement:
The Special Meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus was called pursuant to the
provisions of the Open Public Meetings Law. Notices of this meeting were emailed to the Ridgewood News
and the Record on April 29, 2020. In addition, copies of notices were posted on the bulletin board in the
Municipal Building and filed in the office of the Municipal Clerk on aforementioned dated. Notices on the
bulletin board have remained continuously posted.

PUBLIC COMMENT
Mayor opened the meeting to the public. He stated if anyone desired to be heard, state your name and
address for the record.
Hearing none, Mayor closed the meeting to the public.
CONSENT AGENDA RESOLUTIONS
Resolution #20-63- Introduced by Council President Troast
A Resolution – Authorizing the governing body to extend the grace period for property tax
payments due May 1, 2020 until June 1, 2020.
WHEREAS, on April 28, 2020 the Governor of New Jersey issued Executive Order 130 which, in part,
authorized municipalities to extend the grace period for payment of Second Quarter local property taxes due
on May 1, 2020; and
WHEREAS, said grace period is currently set at May 11, 2020; and
WHEREAS, due to the financial hardship caused by or related to the Covid-19 pandemic, many taxpayers
may find it difficult to meet the May 1st due date for timely payment; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body has considered the matter and finds just cause;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body, pursuant to the authority of the
foregoing Executive Order, that it does hereby extend the grace period for payment of Second Quarter local
property taxes from May 11, 2020 to June 1, 2020; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Municipal Clerk shall notify the Director of the Division of Local
Government Services of the adoption of this resolution no later than the third business day following the
adoption of this resolution.
A motion was offered by Council President Troast and seconded by Councilman Crossley to approve
Resolution 20-63. Motion carried on a roll call vote – All present voting “Aye”.

ADJOURNMENT
On a motion by Councilman Crossley, seconded by Councilman Policastro, the meeting was adjourned at
10:04 a.m. Motion Carried by voice vote – all present voting “Aye”.
