MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY CITY OF HOBART, LAKE COUNTY, INDIANA June 28, 2017 Call to Order: Mayor Snedecor called the special meeting to order at 3:35 p.m. followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: The following members were present: Mr. Lain, Mr. Ehrhardt, and Mayor Snedecor. Also present: Attorney DeBonis, C-T Longer, and Admin. Asst. C. Govert Mayor Snedecor welcomed Munster High School Government Students to the meeting. Approval of Agenda: Motion by Mr. Lain, seconded by Mr. Ehrhardt, to approve the agenda as presented. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) New Business: Resolution 2017-05: A Resolution Determining the Lowest Responsible and Responsive Bidder and Awarding Contract for Hobart Police and Courts ADA Access Project: The Resolution was read. Attorney DeBonis stated that of the 2 bids received for this project, Gariup had the lowest and most responsible base bid and recommended approval of the base bid of $397,500 and to reject the alternate bids. Mr. Gralik, City Engineer, and Jake Dammarell, BF&S, both recommend approval. Mayor Snedecor stated that CDBG will contribute funding for this project. Motion by Mr. Snedecor, seconded by Mr. Lain, to adopt Resolution 2017-05 as presented. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Announcements: There were no Announcements. Adjournment: Motion by Mr. Ehrhardt to adjourn the meeting. All aye, motion carried.
