MINUTES PARKS & TRAILS ADVISORY COMMITTEE March 16, 5:00 P.M 111 Opera Street, Suite A 1) Roll Call of Committee Members Committee Members present: Samantha Christian, Rick Dwyer, Bob Reddish, and Ann Kendrick. Excused: Larry Williams. P&T staff present: Anthony Whittington, Hannah Rice, Guest: René Williams 2) Approval of the Agenda Bob made a motion to approve the March 16, 2023 agenda. Rick seconded. Motion carried unanimously. 3) Approval of the Minutes Ann made a motion to approve the January 19, 2023 minutes. Rick seconded. Motion carried unanimously. 4) Introduction of Guests 5) New Business A) Trails PowerPoint Presentation: Anthony showed the PP of our City Trails System. B) Major Projects Update: a. Hot Springs Creek Greenway Trail Updates b. Linden Park c. Stokes Creek Greenway d. Zip line at Family Park e. Hannah talked about Tikes, Trikes, and Trails coming up on March 24th at 10am. C) Letters of Support for 2023 Grants: Sam will get one sent to Kathleen, two different grants Outdoor Recreation Grant for phase 2 of Velocity Park and TAP/RTP Grant for Stokes Creek. D) Community Recreational Project Updates: a. Makeover of Kimery: Sport Recreation Manager Adam Ussery will inform the committee of the upgrades happening this year at the April meeting. b. Pickleball courts at Greenwood 6) Parks & Trails Director Reports, Announcements, & Items for Discussion 7) Parks & Trails Advisory Committee Reports, Announcements, & Items for Discussion  Rick stated that he feels more sidewalks and bike lanes are needed within the city.
