Beer Board Meeting Minutes May 20, 2025 at 5:00 PM Jefferson City Municipal Building 1. Call to Order - Mitch Cain, Mayor Meeting was called to order by Vice-Chairman Kevin Bunch at 5:02 pm. 2. Roll Call - Bettina Chandler, City Recorder Roll call was as follows: PRESENT Member Kevin Bunch Member Ailene Combs Member Rocky Melton Member Sheala Purkey ABSENT Member Mitch Cain 3. Public Hearing - Citizens should state their name, address, and limit comments to five minutes. a. Hearing on Violations of City Code Chapter 2; Section 8-212 Unlawful Sale to a Minor at the following locations: 1. Shree Ram 101, Inc. (dba Tobacco & More), 478 East Broadway Blvd. 2. Discount Tobacco & Vape, 270 East Broadway Blvd. 3. K.P. LLC (dba Tobacco Outlet), 123 West Broadway Blvd. 4. Lex Smoke and Vape, 1078 US 11E Each license holder presented their Responsible Vendor certificate. Each business had obtained their certificate after the violation. b. Hearing on Application for an Off-Premise Beer Permit from Jefferson City Vapor and Smoke at 1104 North Chucky Pike. Brian Jennings was present to request his permit. 4. Old Business a. Consideration of Violations of City Code Chapter 2; Section 8-212 Unlawful Sale to a Minor at the following locations: 1. Shree Ram 101, Inc. (dba Tobacco & More), 478 East Broadway Blvd.  2. Discount Tobacco & Vape, 270 East Broadway Blvd. 3. K.P. LLC (dba Tobacco Outlet), 123 West Broadway Blvd. 4. Lex Smoke and Vape, 1078 US 11E Each business was fined a $2,500 penalty with payment due within seven days. They were also requested to provide a copy of their Responsible Vendor certificate to City Recorder Bettina Chandler. 1. Motion by Combs, second by Purkey. Unanimously approved. 2. Motion by Purkey, second by Combs. Unanimously approved. 3. Motion by Purkey, second by Melton. Unanimously approved. 4. Motion by Purkey, second by Combs. Unanimously approved. 5. New Business a. Consideration of Application for an Off-Premise Beer Permit from Jefferson City Vapor and Smoke at 1104 North Chucky Pike. Ms. Chandler was asked how many beer permits the City has issued. There are currently 30 permit, 20 off-premise, 9 on-premise and 1 that was both. Member Bunch asked about the memo from Police Chief Dossett which was not in the application packet. Attorney Burts recommended taking no action on this application pending review from the Police Chief. A Beer Board is scheduled for June 2nd. 6. Adjourn The meeting was adjourned at 5:20pm.
