MINUTES CITY OF JEFFERSON COMMON COUNCIL MONDAY, AUGUST 6, 2018 The Monday, August 6, 2018 meeting of the City of Jefferson Common Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Oppermann. Members present were: Ald. Peachey, Ald. Miller, Ald. Beyer, Ald. Horn, Ald. Brandel, Ald. Tully, Ald. Krause and Ald. Lares. Also present were: City Administrator Freitag, City Engineer Pinnow, City Attorney Rogers and City Deputy Clerk\Treasurer Copsey. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION Jennifer Eisenbart from the Daily Union introduced herself as the new reporter for the newspaper filling in for Alexa. MAYORAL PROCLAMATION Mayor Oppermann read a proclamation for TalkReadPlay Brain Building Awareness Month. MAYORAL PROCLAMATION Mayor Oppermann read a proclamation for the 2018 National Night Out. CONSENT AGENDA Ald. Tully introduced Resolution No. 41. CITY OF JEFFERSON RESOLUTION NO. 41 BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Jefferson, Wisconsin that the consent agenda for August 6, 2018 is hereby adopted. A. Vouchers Payable for August, 2018 in the amount of $110,723.03. Payroll Summary for July 20, 2018 in the amount of $159,647.45 and August 3, 2018 in the amount of $164,065.73. B. Council Minutes from the July 17, 2018 Meetings of the Common Council. C. Licenses as Approved by the Regulatory Committee. 1. Operator’s Licenses 2. Special Class B Licenses Ald. Tully seconded by Ald. Beyer moved to approve Resolution No. 41. On call of the roll, motion carried unanimously. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING JEFFERSON POLICE DEPARTMENT AND JEFFERSON UTILITIES BUILDING REHABILITATION PROJECT BIDDING Ald. Peachey introduced Resolution No. 42. CITY OF JEFFERSON RESOLUTION NO. 42 WHEREAS, the Jefferson Facilities Committee and City staff have been working with the Construction Manager and Architect to finalize the scope of work and preliminary budget for the rehabilitation work proposed at the Jefferson Police Department and Jefferson Utilities Building; and WHEREAS, the Jefferson Common Council has previously approved and authorized the Project Architect to complete construction drawings and competitive bidding documents per the project scope as recommended by the Construction Manager and Facilities Committee; and WHEREAS, the Project Architect is nearing completion of the afore mentioned construction drawings and competitive bidding documents and has established a preliminary estimated project budget at $2,235,000; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Jefferson Wisconsin that it herein authorizes the Jefferson Police Department and Jefferson Utilities Building Rehabilitation Project to be competitively bid pending completion of final construction documents by the Project Architect and review of the competitive bidding documents by City staff and the City Attorney. Ald. Peachey, seconded by Ald. Beyer moved to approve Resolution No. 42. Motion carried unanimously on call of the roll. Ald. Peachey, seconded by Ald. Krause moved to adjourn the August 6, 2018 meeting of the Common Council at 7:14 p.m. On a voice vote, motion carried unanimously. The minutes of the August 6, 2018 meeting of the Common Council are uncorrected. Any corrections made thereto will be noted in the proceedings at which time the minutes are approved and referenced above.
