SPECIAL BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY COUNCIL CHAMBERS MAY 4, 2021-8:30 A.M. Roll call was answered by Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe and Board Member Don Gura. Chairman Jim Dazey was absent. Others present were: Scott & Debbie Derby, Katie Ritchie, Jeremy McKinley, Eric Hesher- R.E.S., Doug Ahlfeld- R.E.S., and Steve Garbacz- KPC. Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. Petitions or Comments No petitions or comments were given. Engineering Award WWTP Solar Generation Project Administrative Engineer Scott Derby read an email from Garyne T. Evans, Senior Director of Ameresco, giving observations on both bidding contractors and specifications. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to award S.E.S. with solar field bid with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. The board asked Eric Hesher from R.E.S. to come before the board and answer specific questions on how their bid is higher and the design differs from S.E.S’s specifications and totals. No one from S.E.S attended the meeting to give an explanation of their bid. After much discussion and consideration Board Member Don Gura made a motion to withdraw his previous motion of awarding S.E.S. the bid with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve R.E.S. with the awarding of the WWTP solar field bid with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. WWTP Lift Station Pump Purchase Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe asked that this purchase currently be tabled. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to table with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Motion to Adjourn Board Member Don Gura made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe adjourned the meeting at 8:58 A.M. _____________________________________ Kathren R.
