BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY COUNCIL CHAMBERS FEBRUARY 8, 2022-8:30 A.M. Open Bids- 2021-2 CCMG Rick Kiersey gave a brief explanation for the benefit of having electronic submission for opening bids. Administrative Engineer opened the 2021-2-CCMG bids in order received: 1. Brooks- $432,350.00 2. Pulver- $400,149.10 3. Niblock- $407,930.00 4. API- $436,548.00 Board Member Don Gura made a motion to take the bids under advisement with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Roll call was answered by Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe and Board Member Don Gura. Chairman Jim Dazey was absent. Others present were: Scott Mosley, Scott Derby, Dawn McGahen, Katie Ritchie, Lance Waters, Jeremy McKinley, Brian Strange, Cindy Marple, and Mark Schultz. Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. Minutes The minutes of the January 25, 2022 Board of Public Works and Safety meeting were presented for approval. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve the minutes with a second by Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes-0 nays. Petitions or Comments Police Lance Waters thanked Street Superintendent Brian Strange and the rest of the workers for doing such a great job plowing during the snow storm. Clerk-Treasurer Request Authorization to pay Otis Clerk Treasurer Katie Ritchie requested authorization to invoice #100400641366 to Otis in the amount of $6,723.96. The money for this invoice will come from the Board of Works Contractual Account. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Request to Hire Clerk Treasurer Katie Ritchie asked that this be tabled until the next meeting as she has not received confirmation on her offer. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Inclement Weather Pay- Add on Clerk Treasurer Katie Ritchie requested authorization per the handbook to pay all non-emergent City employees their regular pay for the snow storm that closed offices due to travel restrictions on Thursday February 3, 2022. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Engineering Drake Road Phase 2- Design Invoice #10 Administrative Engineer Scott Derby requested authorization to pay invoice #10 to A&Z Engineering in the amount of $12,000.20 ($9,600.16 Federal & $2,400.04 Local). Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Drake Road Phase 1- Pay Request #34- Add on Administrative Engineer Scott Derby requested authorization to pay invoice #34 to A&Z Engineering in the amount of $1,462.47 ($1,169.98 Federal & $292.49 Local). Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Police Wage Adjustment for Dispatchers Handshoe and Diaz Chief of Police Lance Waters requested authorization to give Dispatchers Hunter Handshoe and Kenia Diaz a wage adjustment to $22.81/ hour. Both Dispatchers have successfully completed their six month probationary period and entitled to earn full Dispatcher II pay. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Street Wage Adjustment for Walkup Street Superintendent Brian Strange requested authorization to give employee Ryan Walkup a wage adjustment to $24.26/hr effective February 18, 2022. Ryan has completed his 90 days as Heavy Equipment Operator. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays.
