BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY COUNCIL CHAMBERS OCTOBER 25, 2022-8:30 A.M. Roll call was answered by: Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe, Chairman Jim Dazey, and Board Member Don Gura. Others present were: Steve Garbacz- KPC, Mark Schultz, Lance Waters, Dawn McGahen, Chad McKinley, Scott Mosley, Cindy Marple, Scott Derby, Jeremy McKinley, and Katie Ritchie. Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. Minutes Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve the Board of Works minutes from the October 11, 2022 meeting with a second from Mayor Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Petitions No petitions or comments were given. Clerk Request to pay Martin Riley- Add on Clerk Treasurer Katie Ritchie requested authorization to pay invoice 7958 to Martin Riley in the amount of $4,240.20 for the Readi Grant. This invoice will be paid from the Board of Works Contractual Account. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Park Request to Purchase Cold Weather Clothing Park Director Dawn McGahen requested authorization to purchase cold weather gear for her part time employees. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Police Extension Time of Vacation Days- Stahl Chief of Police Lance Waters requested authorization to extend Sergeant Stahl’s last two vacation days through the end of the year. Stahl’s anniversaries date is originally October 28th. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. WWTP Sewer Adjustment- 561 ½ S. Main Street Noble County Council on Aging submitted a sewer adjustment request in the amount of $403.68. Wastewater Employee Trevor Hampshire verified that the water did not go down a drain and recommended approving the adjustment. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Sewer Adjustment- 206 Edgelink Drive Jenny Scott submitted a sewer adjustment request in the amount of $1,280.64. Wastewater employee Trevor Hampshire verified that the water did not go down a drain and recommended approving the adjustment. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. The September Activity Report was presented for review. The September Financial Report was presented for review. Request to Purchase Waders for Cole Criswell- Add on Superintendent Mark Schultz requested authorization to purchase newly hired employee Cole Criswell a pair of waders. These waders will stay with the City but Criswell is in need of using a new pair. This is not to exceed $150.00. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe Water The September Revenue/ Expense Report was presented for review. Strategic Valve Installation Project Superintendent Scott Mosley requested authorization to spend $296,000.00 to Culy Contracting for a valve insertion project along Drake Road. The money for the project will come from the ARPA Grant. Board Member Don Gura made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Motion to Adjourn Board Member Don Gura made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Chairman Jim Dazey adjourned the meeting at 8:48 A.M. _____________________________________ Kathren R.
