BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
COUNCIL CHAMBERS
JUNE 11, 2024-8:30 A.M.
Roll call was answered at 8:30 A.M. by: Mayor Lance Waters, Chairman Don Gura, and Board Member Tara
Streb.
Others present were: Katie Ritchie, Kristen Johnson, John Dixon, Teresa Xolio, Scott Derby, Scott Mosley,
Patrick Howell, Jeremy McKinley, and Cheryl Barker.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance.
Minutes
Board Member Tara Streb made a motion to approve the Board of Works minutes from the May 28, 2024 meeting
with a second from Mayor Lance Waters. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays.
Petitions
No petitions or comments were given.
Mayor
Application for Use of Public Facilities- Fright Night Festival
Samantha Phipps submitted an application for the use of public facilities for a Fright Night Festival on October
12, 2024. Board Member Tara Streb made a motion to table this application since no one was able to attend and
answer questions with a second from Mayor Lance Waters. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays.
Application for Use of Public Facilities- Children’s Health Fair
Life and Family Services’ submitted an application for the use of public facilities for the Children’s Health Fair
on June 18, 2024 from 12:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Library to Lake Terrace Drive and to the Life and Family
Service’s building. Board Member Tara Streb made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor Lance
Waters. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays.
Engineering
Drake Road Supplemental Agreement #4
Administrative Engineer Scott Derby presented Drake Road Supplemental Agreement Number 4 with an increase
of $5,430.00 bringing the total to $648,632.00. Mayor Lance Waters made a motion to approve the awarding with
a second from Board Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays.
Orchard Street CMP Replacement- Final as Built Cost
Administrative Engineer Scott Derby presented the Orchard Street CMP Replacement Project Final Cost Report.
The report showed a decrease in the overall budget amount. The original quoted spending amount was $45,790.00
and the final amount spent was $37,383.77.
WWTP
Wage Adjustment- Ashton Fuller
Superintendent Patrick Howell requested authorization to give Plant Operator Ashton Fuller a wage increase of
$1.20/hour effective June 18, 2024. Ashton will have successfully completed his 180 days with the City on that
date. Board Member Tara Streb made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor Lance Waters. The motion
passed 2 ayes – 0 nays.
Motion to Adjourn
Board Member Tara Streb made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Chairman Don Gura adjourned the meeting at
8:38 A.M.
