BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY COUNCIL CHAMBERS JUNE 23, 2026- 8:30 A.M. https://www.kendallvillein.gov/recordings Roll call was answered at 8:30 A.M. by: Mayor Lance Waters, Chairman Don Gura, and Board Member Tara Streb. Others present were: Katie Ritchie, Scott Derby, Tim Ostrowski, Patrick Howell, Nikole Albright- Chamber of Commerce, Kevin Dressler, Brian Strange, Tanya Evard, and Jeremy McKinley. Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. Minutes Mayor Lance Waters made a motion to approve the Board of Works minutes from June 9, 2026, meeting with a second from Board Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Petitions & Comments No petitions or comments were given. Engineering Downtown Entrance Enhancement Project- Change Order #1- Final Administrative Engineer Scott Derby presented the final change order #1 for the downtown entrance enhancement project in the additional amount of $1,720.00. This difference was for additional gravel fill and electrical work on the spot lighting. Mayor Lance Waters made a motion to approve with a second from Board Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. STREET Request to Purchase Track Loader Superintendent Brian Strange requested authorization to purchase a T770 Bobcat Compact Track Loader for $72,165.70 from Bobcat. The Street Department will also be trading in a T740 T4 Compact Track Loader leaving a total balance of $6,286.70 to pay. Board Member Tara Streb made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor Lance Waters. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. WWTP The May Expense and Revenue Report was presented for review. Sewer Adjustment- 2023 Lodi Ct Brad Baker, owner of 2023 Lodi Court, requested a sewer adjustment of $118.95 for water that did not go down a drain due to filling her pool. Superintendent Patrick Howell verified that the water did not go down the drain and recommended approving the adjustment in full. Board Member Tara Streb made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor Lance Waters. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. New Sewer Cleaning Combo Truck Superintendent Patrick Howell requested authorization to purchase a new sewer cleaning combo truck from Brown Equipment in the amount of $521,363.64. This price includes a $90,000.00 trade in of the current 12-year- old truck we currently have. This will be a seven-year lease to own purchase. Board Member Tara Streb made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor Lance Waters. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Directional Boring Superintendent Patrick Howell requested authorization to pay Ace Utility Solutions $16,225.00 to do directional boring from the WWTP building to 119 McCray Court. This will allow fiber optics into the building to connect with the city’s server. Board Member Tara Streb made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor Lance Waters. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Water Request for Two New Hires Interim- Superintendent Kevin Dressler requested authorization to hire Douglas Short and Avery Kline as Distribution Operators. Board Member Tara Streb made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor Lance Waters. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. The May Revenue and Expense Report was presented for review. Request to Pay EJP Interim-Superintendent Kevin Dressler requested authorization to pay EJP $4,823.00 for a valve that was previously installed due to a water emergency on Town Street last week. Board Member Tara Streb made a motion to approve with a second from Mayor Lance Waters. The motion passed 2 ayes – 0 nays. Motion to Adjourn Mayor Lance Waters made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
