COMMON COUNCIL COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL JUNE 2, 2020 -7:00 P.M. The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session Tuesday June 2, 2020 at 7:00 P.M. Roll call was answered by: Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe, Council Member Regan Ford, Council Member Corey Boese, Council Member Jim Dazey, Attorney Doug Atz, Council Member Steven Clouse, Council Member Amy Ballard. MYAC Member Kyle Blackburn was absent. Others present were: Lance & April Waters, Justin & Kristie Beall, Doug Davis, Matthew Gillison & family, Jeremy McKinley, Scott Derby, Katie Ritchie, and Terry Longsworth. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. MINUTES/ MEETING Minutes from the May 19, 2020 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Steven Clouse made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Amy Ballard. The motion passed 5 ayes – 0 nays. PETITIONS OR COMMENTS No petitions or comments were given. POLICE Chief of Police Lance Waters recognized Officers Justin Beall and Matthew Gillison for their five years of service to the City. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe also recognized Chief Waters for his 20 years of service to the City. All Officers were presented with an award and a pin. NEW BUSINESS General Ordinance #1223/ Solid Waste- 1st Reading Council Member Jim Dazey requested the first reading of General Ordinance #1223/ Solid Waste in title only. Attorney Doug Atz read General Ordinance #1223 in title only. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Steven Clouse. Some discussion took place about how the trash bids will work. The motion passed 5 ayes – 0 nays. ALLOWENCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS Council Member Jim Dazey presented bills and claim numbers 65815 through 65906 for $1,389,073.55 for approval. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council Member Corey Boese. The motion passed 5 ayes-0 nays. MOTION TO ADJOURN Council Member Regan Ford made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe adjourned the meeting at 7:15 P.M. ________________________________________________ Kathren R.
