The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session Tuesday September 1, 2020 at 7:00
P.M.
Roll call was answered by: Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe, Council Member Regan Ford, Council Member Corey
Boese, Council Member Jim Dazey, Attorney Doug Atz, Council Member Steven Clouse, Council Member
Amy Ballard. MYAC Member Kyle Blackburn was absent.
Others present were: Andy Barrand- KPC News, Lance Waters, Katie Ritchie, Jeremy McKinley, Jim Pankop,
Shelly Householder Williams, Josh & Macy Burho, Brian Leitch, Scott Mosley, and Terry Longsworth.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance.
MINUTES/ MEETING
Minutes from the August 18, 2020 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Jim
Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Regan Ford. The motion passed 5 ayes –
0 nays.
PETITIONS OR COMMENTS
No petitions or comments were given.
MAYOR
Mayor, SuzAnne Handshoe, presented the 100th Anniversary of Women' s Right to Vote Proclamation.
PARK
The August 10, 2020 minutes were presented for review.
NEW BUSINESS
Special Ordinance #1569/ 2021 Budget- 1st Reading
Council Member Jim Dazey requested the first reading of Special Ordinance #1569 in title only. Attorney Doug
Atz read Special Ordinance #1569 in title only. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a
second from Council Member Regan Ford. The motion passed 5 ayes - 0 nays.
General Ordinance #1224/ Amend G.O. 665 One-way Streets- 1st Reading
Council Member Jim Dazey requested the first reading of General Ordinance #1224 in title only. Attorney
Doug Atz read General Ordinance #1224 in title only. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve
with a second from Council Member Steven Clouse. Council Member Steven Clouse mentioned that he was
glad to see East Noble School Corporation come up with this idea and that it was very beneficial. The motion
passed 5 ayes - 0 nays.
ALLOWENCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS
Council Member Jim Dazey presented bills and claim numbers 66486 through 66568 for $457,988.37 for
approval. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council
Member Amy Ballard. The motion passed 5 ayes-0 nays.
MOTION TO ADJOURN
Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe adjourned the
meeting at 7: 14 P .M.
