The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session Tuesday December 1, 2020 at 7:00 P.M. Roll call was answered by: Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe, Council Member Regan Ford, Council Member Corey Boese, Council Member Jim Dazey, Attorney Doug Atz, Council Member Steven Clouse, Council Member Amy Ballard, and MYAC Member Darby Johnson. Others present were: Lance Waters, Katie Ritchie, Jeremy McKinley, Brenda Dickinson, Todd Hanes, Christopher Jansen, and Joe Sells. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. MINUTES/ MEETING Minutes from the November 17, 2020 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Regan Ford. The motion passed 5 ayes – 0 nays. PETITIONS OR COMMENTS No petitions or comments were given. MAYOR The Humane Society report was presented for review. CLERK TREASURER Acceptance of the EID’s 2021 Budget. Clerk Treasurer Katie Ritchie presented the August 2020 minutes from the EID where they approved their 2021 Budget of $34,500.00. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Amy Ballard. The motion passed 5 ayes – 0 nays. POLICE The October Police Report was presented for review. OLD BUSINESS Special Ordinance #1571/ Elected Officers Salaries for 2021- 3rd Reading Council Member Jim Dazey requested the third reading of Special Ordinance #1571/ Elected Officers Salaries for 2021. Attorney Doug Atz read S.O #1571 in title only. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Regan Ford. The motion passed 5 ayes -0 nays. NEW BUSINESS General Ordinance #1230/ Reestablishment of the EID- 1st Reading Council Member Jim Dazey requested the first reading of General Ordinance #1230/ Reestablishment of the EID in title only. Attorney Doug Atz read G.O #1230 in title only. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Steven Clouse. The motion passed 5 ayes – 0 nays. ALLOWENCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS Council Member Jim Dazey presented bills and claim numbers 67143 through 67227 for $504,007.88 for approval. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council Member Amy Ballard. The motion passed 5 ayes-0 nays. MOTION TO ADJOURN Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe adjourned the meeting at 7:08 P.M. ________________________________________________ Kathren R.
