COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL
MAY 4, 2021 -7:00 P.M.
The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session Tuesday May 4, 2021 at 7:00 P.M.
Roll call was answered by: Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe, Council Member Regan Ford, Attorney Doug Atz,
Council Member Shari Targgart, and Council Member Amy Ballard. Council Member Jim Dazey, Council
Member Corey Boese, and MYAC Member Darby Johnson were absent.
Others present were: Katie Ritchie, Scott Derby, Nate Stahl, and Andy Barrand- KPC News.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance.
MINUTES/ MEETING
Minutes from the April 20, 2021 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Regan
Ford made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Amy Ballard. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0
nays.
PETITIONS OR COMMENTS
No petitions or comments were given.
MAYOR
The Humane Shelter Report was presented for review.
OLD BUSINESS
Special Ordinance #1573/ ARP Coronavirus Local Recovery Fund- 3rd Reading
Council Member Regan Ford requested the reading of Special Ordinance #1573 in title only. Attorney Doug Atz
read Special Ordinance #1573 in title only. Council Member Regan Ford made a motion to approve with a second
from Council Member Shari Targgart. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays.
ALLOWENCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS
Council Member Amy Ballard presented bills and claim numbers 68220 through 68309 for $632,793.21 for
approval. Council Member Amy Ballard made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council
Member Regan Ford. The motion passed 3 ayes-0 nays.
MOTION TO ADJOURN
Council Member Regan Ford made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe adjourned the
meeting at 7:07 P.M.
