COMMON COUNCIL COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL JUNE 1, 2021 -7:00 P.M. The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session Tuesday June 1, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. Roll call was answered by: Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe, Council Member Regan Ford, Council Member Corey Boese, Council Member Jim Dazey, Attorney Doug Atz, Council Member Shari Targgart, and MYAC Member Darby Johnson. Council Member Amy Ballard was absent. Others present were: Katie Ritchie, Scott Mosley, Mark Schultz, Wade Hale, Dawn McGahen, Lance Waters, Scott Derby, Andy Barrand- KPC News, Ryan Alwine, and Jeremy McKinley. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. MINUTES/ MEETING Minutes from the May 18, 2021 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Corey Boese. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0 nays. PETITIONS OR COMMENTS No petitions or comments were given. MAYOR The April Humane Society report was presented for review. CLERK-TREASURER Clerk-Treasurer Katie Ritchie presented the American Rescue Plan Act Spending Plan to the Council that was created by Mayor Handshoe and her department heads. This list was created and then sent to City Attorney Doug Atz to make sure items on the list complied with spending guidelines. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to accept the A.R.P.A. spending plan with a second from Council Member Shari Targgart. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0 nays. OLD BUSINESS General Ordinance #1237/ Longevity Pay – 2nd Reading Council Member Jim Dazey requested the reading of General Ordinance #1237/ Longevity in its entirety. City Attorney Doug Atz read General Ordinance #1237/ Longevity in its entirety. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Regan Ford. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0 nays. ALLOWENCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS Council Member Jim Dazey presented bills and claim numbers 68427 through 68520 for $2,301,248.29 for approval. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council Member Corey Boese. The motion passed 4 ayes-0 nays. MOTION TO ADJOURN Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe adjourned the meeting at 7:08 P.M. ________________________________________________ Kathren R.
