COMMON COUNCIL COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL OCTOBER 5, 2021 -7:00 P.M. The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session Tuesday October 5, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. Roll call was answered by: Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe, Council Member Regan Ford, Council Member Jim Dazey, Attorney Doug Atz, and Council Member Amy Ballard. Council Member Corey Boese, Council Member Shari Targgart, and MYAC Member Darby Johnson were absent. Others present were: Katie Ritchie, Lance Waters, Diane Peachey, Eric Kennedy, and Dawn McGahen. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. MINUTES/ MEETING Minutes from the September 21, 2021 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Amy Ballard. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. PETITIONS OR COMMENTS No petitions or comments were given. MAYOR RDC Appointment Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to appoint Tara Streb to the RDC Board with a second from Council Member Regan Ford. Council Member Amy Ballard verbally agreed Tara would be a great fit to the Board. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. OLD BUSINESS Special Ordinance #1574/ 2022 Salary Ordinance- 3rd Reading Council Member Jim Dazey requested the reading of Special Ordinance #1574 in title only. Attorney Doug Atz read Special Ordinance #1574 in title only. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Amy Ballard. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. Special Ordinance #1575/ 2022 Budget- 3rd Reading Council Member Jim Dazey requested the reading of Special Ordinance #1575 in title only. Attorney Doug Atz read Special Ordinance #1575 in title only. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Amy Ballard. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. General Ordinance #1238/ R-2, One and Two Family to C-2A, General (400 Block Weston) – 3rd Reading Council Member Jim Dazey requested the reading of General Ordinance #1238 in title only. Attorney Doug Atz read General Ordinance #1238 in title only. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Regan Ford. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. ALLOWENCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS Council Member Jim Dazey presented bills and claim numbers 69425 through 69534 for $565,466.37 for approval. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council Member Amy Ballard. The motion passed 3 ayes-0 nays. MOTION TO ADJOURN Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe adjourned the meeting at 7:07 P.M. ________________________________________________ Kathren R.
