COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL
OCTOBER 19, 2021 -7:00 P.M.
A public hearing for an application to procure architectural services took place. Grant writer Shannon
Mcleod gave a brief description of the time line and an estimate cost to procure architectural services for
the $2,000,000.00 grant Kendallville has recently received. There were no comments given.
The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session Tuesday October 19, 2021 at 7:04 P.M.
Roll call was answered by: Council Member Regan Ford, Council Member Corey Boese, Council Member Jim
Dazey, Attorney Doug Atz, Council Member Shari Targgart, and Council Member Amy Ballard. Mayor SuzAnne
Handshoe and MYAC Member Darby Johnson were absent.
Others present were: Katie Ritchie, Patrice Abbee, Kristen & Steven Johnson, Shannon Mcleod, Kathy Smith,
Nate Stahl, Brian Strange, Eric Kennedy, and Steve Garbacz- KPC News.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance.
MINUTES/ MEETING
Minutes from the October 5, 2021 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Regan
Ford made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Corey Boese. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0
nays.
PETITIONS OR COMMENTS
No petitions or comments were given.
MAYOR
The September Aviation Minutes were presented for review.
FIRE
The September Fire Report was presented for review.
POLICE
The September Police Report was presented for review.
NEW BUSINESS
Special Ordinance #1576/ Elected Officials Salary 2022- 1st Reading
Council Member Regan Ford requested the reading of Special Ordinance #1576 in title only. Attorney Doug Atz
read Special Ordinance #1576 in title only. Council Member Regan Ford made a motion to approve with a second
by Council Member Amy Ballard. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0 nays.
ALLOWENCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS
Council Member Amy Ballard presented bills and claim numbers 69535 through 69718 for $1,363,431.95 for
approval. Council Member Amy Ballard made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council
Member Regan Ford. The motion passed 4 ayes-0 nays.
MOTION TO ADJOURN
Council Member Shari Targgart made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Council Member Jim Dazey adjourned
the meeting at 7:08 P.M.
