COMMON COUNCIL COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL DECEMBER 7, 2021 -7:00 P.M. The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session Tuesday December 7, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. Roll call was answered by: Council Member Regan Ford, Council Member Corey Boese, Council Member Jim Dazey, Attorney Jacob Atz (filling in for City Attorney Doug Atz), Council Member Shari Targgart, Council Member Amy Ballard, and MYAC Member Ryan Norden. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe was absent. Others present were: Katie Ritchie, Ryan Alwine, Dawn McGahen, Lance Waters, Jeremy McKinley, Nate Stahl, Steve & Mary Ann Heltzel, Brett & Addy Slone, Kristen & Steve Johnson, Mike & Brenda Jansen, Rob Beechy, Larry Pant, Lucas Pant, John & Rhonda Barr, Ken Marks, and Steve Garbacz- KPC News. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. MINUTES/ MEETING Minutes from the November 16, 2021 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Regan Ford made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Corey Boese. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0 nays. PETITIONS OR COMMENTS No petitions or comments were given. MAYOR Swearing in of Patrolman Lucas Pant Council President Jim Dazey conducted the swearing in of Patrolman Lucas Pant. Council President Jim Dazey recognized B.O.A.C President, Mike Jansen, as he is retiring. Council President Jim Dazey recognized Sports Complex Manager Brett Slone for his years of service to the City as he is retiring. The October 6, 2021 and November 10, 2021 Aviation minutes were presented for review. OLD BUSINESS General Ordinance #1240/ Historic Preservation- 3rd Reading Council Member Regan Ford requested the reading of General Ordinance #1240 in title only. Attorney Jacob Atz read General Ordinance #1240 in title only. Council Member Regan Ford made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Corey Boese. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0 nays. ALLOWENCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS Council Member Amy Ballard presented bills and claim numbers 69931 through 70055 for $1,747,409.44 for approval. Council Member Amy Ballard made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council Member Shari Targgart. The motion passed 4 ayes-0 nays. MOTION TO ADJOURN Council Member Regan Ford made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Council President Jim Dazey adjourned the meeting at 7:07 P.M. ________________________________________________ Kathren R.
