COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL
DECEMBER 21, 2021 -7:00 P.M.
The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session Tuesday December 21, 2021 at 7:00 P.M.
Roll call was answered by: Council Member Regan Ford, Council Member Corey Boese, Council Member Jim
Dazey, Attorney Doug Atz, and Council Member Shari Targgart. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe, Council Member
Amy Ballard, and MYAC Member Ryan Norden were absent.
Others present were: Katie Ritchie, Lance Waters, Jeremy McKinley, Joe Sells, Jim Nixon, and Judge Probst.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance.
MINUTES/ MEETING
Minutes from the December 7, 2021 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Shari
Targgart made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Corey Boese. The motion passed 3 ayes
– 0 nays.
PETITIONS OR COMMENTS
No petitions or comments were given.
MAYOR
Jim Nixon presented the annual Tree Commission Report.
CLERK-TREASURER
Resolution #1087/ Year End Transfers
Council Member Regan Ford requested the reading of Resolution #1087 in its entirety. Attorney Doug Atz read
Resolution #1087 in its entirety. Council Member Regan Ford made a motion to approve with a second from
Council Member Corey Boese. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays.
2022 EID Budget
Council Member Regan Ford asked Attorney Doug Atz to read the EID’s 2022 budget. This budget was approved
by the EID in their December 16, 2021 meeting. Attorney Doug Atz read the 2022 EID budget. Council Member
Regan Ford made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Shari Targgart. The motion passed 3
ayes – 0 nays.
FIRE
The November Fire Report was presented for review.
POLICE
The November Police Report was presented for review.
ALLOWENCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS
Council President Jim Dazey presented bills and claim numbers 70056 through 70180 for $1,113,474.58 for
approval. Council President Jim Dazey made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council
Member Shari Targgart. The motion passed 4 ayes-0 nays.
Council President Jim Dazey wished everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
MOTION TO ADJOURN
Council Member Regan Ford made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Council President Jim Dazey adjourned the
meeting at 7:19 P.M.
