COMMON COUNCIL COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL JUNE 21, 2022 -7:00 P.M. The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session Tuesday June 21, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. Roll call was answered by: Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe, Council Member Corey Boese, Council Member Jim Dazey, Attorney Doug Atz, Council Member Shari Targgart and Council Member Amy Ballard. Council Member Regan Ford was absent. Others present were: Katie Ritchie, Kristen Johnson, Steve Garbacz- KPC, Scott Derby, Brian Strange, and Bob Combs. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. MINUTES/ MEETING Minutes from the June 7, 2022 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Shari Targgart. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0 nays. PETITIONS OR COMMENTS Council Member Amy Ballard thanked Park Director Dawn McGahen and Facilities Manager Ryan Alwine for helping in a very successful YPN Food Truck Friday that was held at Bixler Lake. MAYOR Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe announced that the MYAC State of the Youth Address would be held at a later Council Meeting as some members and leaders were out with COVID. Main Street Director’s Semi-Annual Report Main Street Manager Kristen Johnson gave a brief summary of her semi-annual report on what all has, is, and are going to be happening on Main Street. FIRE The May Fire Report was presented for review. PARK The June 13, 2022 Park minutes were presented for review. POLICE The May Police Report was presented for review. NEW BUSINESS General Ordinance #1246/ Traffic Control Signs Noble Creek Subdivision – 1st Reading Council Member Jim Dazey requested the reading of General Ordinance #1246 in title only. Attorney Doug Atz read General Ordinance #1246 in title only. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Amy Ballard. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0 nays. ALLOWENCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS Council Member Council Member Jim Dazey presented bills and claim numbers 71343 through 71471 for $694,922.37 for approval. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council Member Amy Ballard. The motion passed 4 ayes-0 nays. MOTION TO ADJOURN Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe adjourned the meeting at 7:14 P.M. ________________________________________________ Kathren R.
