COMMON COUNCIL COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL JUNE 20, 2023 -7:00 P.M. The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session Tuesday June 20, 2023 at 7:00 P.M. Roll call was answered by: Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe, Council Member Regan Ford, Council Member Corey Boese, Attorney Doug Atz, Council Member Jim Dazey, Council Member Shari Targgart, Council Member Amy Ballard, and MYAC Member TJ Knox. Others present were: Katie Ritchie, Lance & April Waters, Matt Getts- KPC News, Scott Derby, Sharon Montoya, Jeremy McKinley, Jo Knox, Kevin & Misty Pegan, Brandon Cox, and Chris Jansen. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. MINUTES/ MEETING Minutes from the June 6, 2023 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council President Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Corey Boese. The motion passed 5 ayes – 0 nays. PETITIONS OR COMMENTS No petitions or comments were given. MAYOR Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe swore in Officer Kevin Pegan as detective. Resolution #1109/ Tax Abatement- Hendrickson Council President Jim Dazey requested the reading of Resolution 1109 in its entirety. Attorney Doug Atz read Resolution 1109 in its entirety. Council President Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Shari Targgart. The motion passed 5 ayes – 0 nays. The May 2023 Aviation minutes were presented for review. CLERK TREASURER Resolution #1110/ Interest Income Council President Jim Dazey requested the reading of Resolution 1110 in its entirety. Attorney Doug Atz read Resolution 1110 in its entirety. Council President Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Amy Ballard. The motion passed 5 ayes – 0 nays. ENGINEERING The May 2023 Solar Field Report was presented for review. FIRE The May 2023 Fire Report was presented for review. POLICE The April 2023 Police Report was presented for review. The May 2023 Police Report was presented for review. ALLOWANCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS Council President Jim Dazey presented bills and claim numbers 74136 through 74250 for $990,877.06 for approval. Council President Jim Dazey made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council Member Amy Ballard. The motion passed 5 ayes-0 nays. MOTION TO ADJOURN Council President Jim Dazey made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe adjourned the meeting at 7:12 P.M. ________________________________________ Kathren R.
