COMMON COUNCIL COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL AUGUST 2, 2023 -7:00 P.M. The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session Wednesday August 2, 2023 at 7:00 P.M. Roll call was answered by: Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe, Council Member Regan Ford, Council Member Jim Dazey, Attorney Doug Atz, Council Member Shari Targgart, Council Member Amy Ballard, and MYAC Member T.J. Knox. Others present were: Katie Ritchie, Tyler Knox, Lance Waters, Tara Streb, Brad Targgart, Brett Slone, Patrick Howell, Jeremy McKinley, and Brian Strange. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. MINUTES/ MEETING Minutes from the July 18, 2023 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Shari Targgart. The motion passed 5 ayes – 0 nays. PETITIONS OR COMMENTS No petitions or comments were given. CLERK-TREASURER Amending ARPA Spending Plan Clerk Treasurer Katie Ritchie presented the updated APRPA Spending Plan that added project #18 (insurance claims) to the list. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Amy Ballard. The motion passed 5 ayes – 0 nays PARK The July 11, 2023 Park Board Minutes were presented for review. ALLOWANCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS Council Member Jim Dazey presented bills and claim numbers 74442 through 74563 for $1,551,968.37 for approval. Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council Member Amy Ballard. Clerk Treasurer Katie Ritchie gave a brief explanation to the public as to why the claims were higher than usual. The motion passed 5 ayes-0 nays. MOTION TO ADJOURN Council Member Jim Dazey made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
