COMMON COUNCIL COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL MARCH 19, 2024 -7:00 P.M. The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session March 19, 2024 at 7:00 P.M. Roll call was answered by: Mayor Lance Waters, Council Member Corey Boese, Council Member Shari Targgart, Attorney Jacob Atz, Council Member Tara Streb, and MYAC Member Melissa Smith. Council Member Amy Ballard and Council Member Christopher McCreery were absent. Others present were: Katie Ritchie, Matt Getts- KPC, Brad Targgart, John Dixon, Scott Derby, and Austin Lash. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. MINUTES/ MEETING Minutes from the March 5, 2024 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Corey Boese made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Shari Targgart. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. PETITIONS OR COMMENTS Mayor Lance Waters thanked Chief McKinley and the rest of the Fire Department for quickly responding to the house fire on Riley Street. MAYOR Resolution #1117- RDC/TIF Council Member Corey Boese requested the reading of Resolution 1117 in its entirety. Attorney Jacob Atz read Resolution 1117 in its entirety. Council Member Corey Boese made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. The February 7, 2024 Aviation Minutes were presented for review. CLERK-TREASURER Resolution #1118/ Transfer of Funds for Skate Park and Insurance Council Member Corey Boese requested the reading of Resolution 1118 in its entirety. Attorney Jacob Atz read Resolution 1118 in its entirety. Council Member Corey Boese made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. Resolution #1119/ Deletion of Funds Council Member Corey Boese requested the reading of Resolution 1119 in its entirety. Attorney Jacob Atz read Resolution 1119 in its entirety. Council Member Corey Boese made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Shari Targgart. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. ENGINEERING The February 2024 McCray Solar Report was presented for review. FIRE The February 2024 Fire Report was presented for review. POLICE The February 2024 Police Report was presented for review. OLD BUSINESS General Ordinance #1264/ Zoning Regulations- 3rd Reading Council Member Corey Boese requested the reading of General Ordinance #1264 in title only. Attorney Jacob Atz read General Ordinance #1264 in title only. Council Member Corey Boese made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Shari Targgart. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. ALLOWANCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS Council Member Tara Streb presented bills and claim numbers 76135 through 76231 for $1,193,298.59 for approval. Council Member Tara Streb made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council Member Shari Targgart. The motion passed 3 ayes-0 nays. MOTION TO ADJOURN Council Member Shari Targgart made a motion to adjourn the meeting with a second from Council Member Corey Boese. Mayor Lance Waters adjourned the meeting at 7:15 P.M. ________________________________________ Kathren R.
