COMMON COUNCIL COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL JUNE 4, 2024 -7:00 P.M. The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session June 4, 2024 at 7:00 P.M. Roll call was answered by: Mayor Lance Waters, Council Member Amy Ballard, Council Member Corey Boese, Council Member Shari Targgart, Attorney Jacob Atz, Council Member Tara Streb, Council Member Christopher McCreery, and MYAC Member Melissa Smith. Others present were: Katie Ritchie, Matt Getts- KPC, Scott Derby, Madison Targgart, Brian Strange, Dawn McGahen, Patrick Howell, Jeremy McKinley, and John Dixon PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. MINUTES/ MEETING Minutes from the May 21, 2024 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Shari Targgart made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 5 ayes – 0 nays. PETITIONS OR COMMENTS Park Director Dawn McGahen thanked the City and Council Members for their collaboration for the opening of the Kendallville Skate Park. The grand opening for the Skate Park was a huge success. PARK The May 13, 2024 Park Minutes were presented for review. NEW BUSINESS General Ordinance #1265/ Municipal Code Police Fees- 1st Reading Council Member Corey Boese requested the reading of General Ordinance #1265 in title only. Attorney Jacob Atz read General Ordinance #1265 in title only. Council Member Corey Boese made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Amy Ballard. Council Member Corey Boese told the Council that the fees are within state statute and comparable to surrounding cities. The motion passed 5 ayes – 0 nays. ALLOWANCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS Council Member Amy Ballard presented bills and claim numbers 76725 through 76819 for $709,873.20 for approval. Council Member Amy Ballard made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 5 ayes-0 nays. MOTION TO ADJOURN Council Member Shari Targgart made a motion to adjourn the meeting with a second from Council Member Amy Ballard. Mayor Lance Waters adjourned the meeting at 7:04 P.M. ________________________________________ Kathren R.
