NOVEMBER 6, 2024 -7:00 P.M.
The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session October 6, 2024 at 7:00 P.M.
Roll call was answered by: Mayor Lance Waters, Council Member Amy Ballard, Council Member Corey Boese,
Attorney Jacob Atz, Council Member Tara Streb, Council Member Christopher McCreery, and MYAC Member
Kingston Linthicum. Council Member Shari Targgart was absent.
Others present were: Katie Ritchie, Scott Derby, John Dixon, Allie Daughtery- HWC Engineering, Dawn
McGahen, and Jeremy McKinley.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance.
MINUTES/ MEETING
Minutes from the October 15, 2024 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Tara
Streb made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Corey Boese. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0
nays.
PETITIONS OR COMMENTS
No petitions or comments were given.
ENGINEERING
Bi-Annual Curb-side Bulk Pickup Comparison
The Bi-Annual Curb-side Bulk Pickup Report was presented for review.
PARK
The Park Minutes from the October 21, 2024 meeting was presented for review.
OLD BUSINESS
Special Ordinance #1594/ 2025 Elected Officers Salary- 2nd Reading
Council Member Amy Ballard made a motion to suspend the rules and read Special Ordinance #1594 in title only
with a second from Council Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0 nays.
Council Member Corey Boese requested the reading of Special Ordinance #1594 in title only. Attorney Jacob Atz
read Special Ordinance #1594 in title only. Council Member Amy Ballard made a motion to approve with a
second from Council Member Tara Streb. Council Member Christopher McCreery questioned the amount of the
Mayor’s salary and said that he was hesitant for the Council to set their own wages as well. After much discussion
the motion passed 3 ayes – 1 nay from Council Member Christopher McCreery.
ALLOWANCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS
Council Member Amy Ballard presented bills and claim numbers 77803 through 78036 for $1,384,277.98 for
approval. Council Member Amy Ballard made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council
Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 4 ayes-0 nays.
MOTION TO ADJOURN
Council Member Corey Boese made a motion to adjourn the meeting with a second from Council Member Amy
Ballard. Mayor Lance Waters adjourned the meeting at 7:27 P.M.
