COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL
JANUARY 21, 2025 -7:00 P.M.
The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session January 21, 2025 at 7:00 P.M.
Roll call was answered by: Mayor Lance Waters, Council Member Amy Ballard, Council Member Shari
Targgart, Council Member Corey Boese, Attorney Jacob Atz, Council Member Tara Streb, Council Member
Christopher McCreery, and MYAC Member Kingston Linthicum.
Others present were: Katie Ritchie, Scott Derby, Matt Getts- KPC News, Robert Probst, John Dixon, and Jeremy
McKinley.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance.
MINUTES/ MEETING
Minutes from the January 7, 2025 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Tara
Streb made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Shari Targgart. The motion passed 5 ayes –
0 nays.
PETITIONS OR COMMENTS
No petitions or comments were given.
MAYOR
Appointments
Mayor Lance Waters appointed Chris Pangborn to the BZA Board.
Council Member Amy Ballard announced the Council is reappointing Loren Allen and Dr. Kevin Lowe to the
Redevelopment Commission Board.
ENGINEERING
The 2024 McCray Solar Report was presented for review.
Judge Robert Probst presented the Council with the Kendallville Tree Commission Annual Report.
FIRE
The December 2024 Fire Report was presented for review.
PARK
The January 13, 2025 Park Board Minutes were presented for review.
POLICE
The December 2024 Police Report was presented for review.
The 2024 Year End Police Report was presented for review.
ALLOWANCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS
Council Member Amy Ballard presented bills and claim numbers 78443 through 78555 for $1,009,725.98 for
approval. Council Member Amy Ballard made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council
Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 5 ayes-0 nays.
MOTION TO ADJOURN
Council Member Corey Boese made a motion to adjourn the meeting with a second from Council Member Shari
Targgart. Mayor Lance Waters adjourned the meeting at 7:10 P.M.
