Kendallville Advisory Plan Commission Meeting Minutes July 6, 2020 Council Chambers-City Hall 7:00 PM President Rick Kiersey called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT: Amy Ballard, John Blume, Dave Button, Lisa Cordial, Michael Fitch, Regan Ford, Todd Hanes, Rick Kiersey and Larry Weber. MEMBERS ABSENT: None STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: Dave Lange, Interim City Planning and Zoning Director. and Lori Jansen, Attorney for the Plan Commission. REVIEW OF PREVIOUS MINUTES: Regan Ford made a motion to accept the minutes as amended changing minutes to add “and other additional information” to Discussion by Members: Crematory, 1st section, 2nd sentence. John Blume 2nd the motion. Motion passed. PETITIONS AND COMMENTS: None REPORT OF OFFICERS AND COMMITTEES: Dave Lange asked the Plan Commission for approval to proceed with a Public Hearing for amendments to the Comprehensive Plan. John Blume made a motion to approve public notification for the Public Hearing of Plan Commission Amendments. Regan Ford 2nd the motion. Motion passed. Old BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: SD-5-20, Primary Plat Approval Fields Family Subdivision - 6.38 acres +/- Applicant-Billy J. Sr. & Peggy J. Fields SD-4-20, Secondary Plat Approval Fields Family Subdivision Applicant-Billy J. Sr. & Peggy J. Fields Joshua Lash, land surveyor of Midwest Land Surveying, LLC, 125 E. Albion Street, Avilla, Indiana 46710, spoke for the Fields saying the minor subdivision request is for 2 lots. The lot the house is on is sold. The second lot is for 2 acres with a new home build for the Fields. Dave Lange said all requirements are met for primary and secondary plats. Larry Weber asked about drainage tile concerning a ditch through the center of the property. Joshua Lash said it was not a concern. PUBLIC HEARING OPENED/CLOSED Dave Button made a motion to give approval for SD-5-20, Primary Plat Approval, Fields Family Subdivision - 6.38 acres +/- as submitted. Michael Fitch 2nd the motion. Motion passed. Dave Button made a motion to give approval to S-D-4-20, Secondary Plat Approval, Fields Family Subdivision as submitted. Regan Ford 2nd the motion. Motion passed. Larry Weber suggested the Fields check with the County Drainage board about driveway tile. Dave Lange said it was all approved. Michael Fitch made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
