Village of Kohler Finance Committee Meeting October 9, 2023 Chairperson John Ewert called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Roll call was taken: John Ewert, Mike Wandschneider and Brett Edgerle. Staff members present: Shawn Splivalo and Cindi Gamb. Public Comment – none. Approval of Meeting Minutes from September 11, 2023 – Motion by John Ewert, second by Mike Wandschneider to approve the meeting minutes from September 11, 2023. Motion carried. Business 1. Review and approve September claims list – Motion by John Ewert, second by Mike Wandschneider to approve the September claims list. Motion carried. 2. Review and recommend: a. Discuss and possibly recommend ordinance change to allow golf carts on Village streets – Motion by Mike Wandschneider, second by Brett Edgerle to table discussion to next month. Motion carried. b. September Revenue & Expense reports, bank reconciliations and journal entries – Motion by John Ewert, second by Mike Wandschneider to recommend the Village Board approve the September Revenue & Expense reports, bank reconciliations and journal entries. Motion carried. c. Police Department Update – Shawn Splivalo said that effective today the east lot on the athletic field is open for student parking and staff is parking in the west lot. The east parking lot is for elementary parents to pick-up and drop-off students. Shawn has asked the school if the door nine entrance could be changed to door three to allow for the SRO to have all three entrance doors in sight from the parking lot. An offer was extended to a police officer candidate, but no response was received. The department is short two squad cars; 2023 orders have not been filled by Ford.
