Planning Commission

Village of Kohler Planning Commission May 1, 2025 Chairperson Thomas Schnettler called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. Roll call was taken: Tom Schnettler, Jay Hoekstra, Paul Bonack, Lori Noonan, Mike Wandschneider and Thomas Kramer were present. Lee Gumm was absent. Staff members present: Mike Kitzerow and Valerie Wandschneider. Public Comment – none. Approval of Meeting Minutes from April 3, 2025 – Motion by Mike Wandschneider, second by Thomas Kramer to approve the meeting minutes from April 3, 2025. Motion carried. Business 1. Request from Steve and Pam Bissell for a Building Permit for a New home on Lot 36 in The Clearings Subdivision – Mike Kitzerow reviewed the plans. Kohler Co. has approved, and the home meets the Village setback requirements and square footage. Motion by Tom Schnettler, second by Mike Wandschneider to approve the request from Steve and Pam Bissell for a building permit for a new home on Lot 36 in The Clearings Subdivision. Motion carried. 2. Request for Temporary Graduation Yard Signs – Mike Kitzerow reported receiving several requests from residents for temporary graduation signs and anticipates additional requests. He requested temporary authority to approve such signs without requiring Planning Commission approval for the period June 18, May 18, 2025 (Baccalaureate) – June 22, 2025. Motion by Tom Schnettler, second by Jay Hoekstra, to approve the request for temporary graduation signs as presented. Motion carried.
