Planning Commission

Village of Kohler Planning Commission Meeting July 2, 2025 Chairperson Thomas Schnettler called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. Roll call was taken: Tom Schnettler, Jay Hoekstra, Lee Gumm, Paul Bonack, Thomas Kramer and Lori Noonan were present. Mike Wandschneider was absent. Staff members present: Mike Kitzerow and Cindi Gamb. Public comment – none. Approval of Meeting Minutes from May 1, 2025 – change to the minutes, temporary graduation yard signs can be displayed from May 18 - June 22, not June 18 - June 22. Motion by Lori Noonan, second by Lee Gumm to approve the meeting minutes from May 1, 2025, as amended. Motion carried. Business 1. Request from Kohler Co. for a Building Permit for Sports Core Pickleball Expansion - Steve from Sketch Works was present to discuss the plans. Request is for construction of two buildings and an outdoor platform tennis court. Future courts are not included in this request. Plans meet the parking requirements. The new signage and a lighting plan must come back to the commission for approval. Also, the plans need to have state plan review. Motion by Tom Schnettler, second by Lee Gumm to recommend the Village Board approve the request from Kohler Co. for a building permit for Sports Core pickleball expansion contingent on separate approval for the signage, lighting plan and state plan approval.
