POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES November 19, 2024 at 5:00 PM Kronenwetter Municipal Center - 1582 Kronenwetter Drive, Kronenwetter WI 54455 Room A121 1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER The meeting began at 5:00 PM in the Fire Department training room. Pledge of Allegiance – Those in attendance recited the pledge of allegiance. B. Roll Call PRESENT President Doug Schemmel Commissioner Lucene Udulutch Vice President David Forsythe MEMBERS ABSENT Commissioner Chet Rucinski Commissioner Rick Smith 2. ANNOUNCEMENT OF CLOSED SESSION President Doug Schemmel announced the upcoming closed session 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES C. Approve August 26, 2024, meeting minutes. Motion made by Dave Forsythe to approve the 08/26/2024 meeting minutes and dispense with the reading. Seconded by Lucene Udulutch. Voting Yea: Doug Schemmel, Lucene Udulutch, David Forsythe Motion carried 3:0 by voice vote 4. PUBLIC COMMENT Please be advised per State Statute Section 19.84(2), information will be received from the public. It is the policy of this Village that Public Comment will take no longer than 15 minutes with a three-minute time period, per person, with time extension per the Chief Presiding Officer’s discretion. Be further advised that there may be limited discussion on the information received, however, no action will be taken under public comments. No public comment 5. CLOSED SESSION Consideration of motion to convene into closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. 19.85 (1)( c ) for consideration of employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility – to wit interview Fire Department applicant(s) and review background report of Fire Department applicant. Motion made by Dave Forsythe. Seconded by Lucene Udulutch. Voting Yea: Doug Schemmel, Lucene Udulutch, David Forsythe Motion carried 3:0 by roll call vote. Time: 5:02 PM Captain Tim O’Brien and Alexa Kufalk were invited to stay in closed session 6. RECONVENE OPEN SESSION Consideration of motion to reconvene into open session at 5:36 PM Motion made by Lucene Udulutch, Seconded by David Forsythe. Voting Yea: Doug Schemmel, Lucene Udulutch, David Forsythe Motion carried 3:0 by roll call vote. 7. ACTION AFTER CLOSED SESSION Discussion and possible action on whether to continue applicant(s) in first responder only hiring process. Motion made by David Forsythe to advance Jocelyn Van Rixel. Seconded by Lucene Udulutch. Voting Yea: Doug Schemmel, Lucene Udulutch, David Forsythe Motion carried 3:0 by roll call vote. 8. ADJOURNMENT Motion made by Lucene Udulutch, Seconded by David Forsythe to adjourn.
