Laconia Public Library Board of Trustees Minutes of Meeting January 23, 2014 Volpe Room VOTED: Minutes of regular meeting December 5, 2013 approved. Motion: Perley; Second: Strauss. Unanimous VOTED: November, December expenditures approved. Motion: Moriarty; Second: Perley. Unanimous [Finance] Laconia Public Library Board of Trustees held their regular monthly meeting in Volpe Room. Chairman Bob Selig called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. Present: John Moriarty; John Perley; Beth Strauss; Director Randy Brough Not Present: James Anderson; Kimberly Danosi; Glenn Smith; City Council Liaison Brenda Baer Finance Committee: November, December 2013 expenditures approved. Motion: Moriarty; Second: Perley. Unanimous Trustees reviewed ledger accounts and financial reports prepared by City Finance Office and chose to continue to use LPL edition of these reports. Personnel Committee: Reclassification of library employee tabled until next meeting. Building Update:  Vic Reno still has not submitted final drawings/specifications. “next week” (1/22/14 email)  Several leaks are being addressed.  Carbon monoxide monitors will be installed in Children’s area, boiler room, mechanical bunker.  Professional air quality testing will be performed throughout lower level. Programming:  Library to Library walk planning meeting on January 31, 2014. Family Advocacy Council would like to partner with schools and library this year. Event t-shirts a great idea.  Needle felting workshop (by LPL Staff member) on January 29.  Winter book discussion series “Memoirs: A Peek into the Lives of Others” begins February 4. Meeting adjourned 6:25pm.
