BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES August 7, 2012 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress and Tilara McDonald-Treece. Absent: Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Murray moved for approval of the minutes from the July 31, 2012 regular meeting. Mrs. McDonald- Treece seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Permission to Advertise-2012 CDBG Sidewalk Replacement Project-Hedgewood Beth Cook, Engineering, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Permission to Advertise the 2012 CDBG Sidewalk Replacement Project for Hedgewood. The publication will run on August 10 & 17, 2012 with the Bid Opening on August 28, 2012. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. McDonald- Treece seconded. Passed. Lease Agreement between INDOT and the City of Lafayette Jenny Miller, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Lease Agreement between INDOT and the City of Lafayette. The agreement is for the three trucks that were included in the road exchange agreement previously approved by the Board. With the lease agreement, there is an option to purchase the vehicles. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Community Development Amendment #1-Agreement between the City of Lafayette and Krismar Enterprises, Inc. LLC for 811 Columbia Street Brian Bugajski, Community Development, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Amendment #1 Agreement between the City of Lafayette and Krismar Enterprises, Inc. LLC for 811 Columbia Street. Due to budget constraints the property owners have asked for a one year extension of the grant agreement. The original project completion date was August 15, 2012 and will be extended to August 15, 2013. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. McDonald-Treece seconded. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. MISCELLANEOUS Banner Request-Germanfest President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Banner Request for Germanfest. The banner will be hung on Main Street from August 21-September 11, 2012. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mrs. McDonald-Treece seconded. Passed. There being no further business to come before the Board, President Henriott stated the meeting was adjourned.
