BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES September 24, 2013 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Cindy Murray, Norm Childress, Ron Shriner and Dawn Ross. Absent: Gary Henriott Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. Mrs. Murray called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the September 17, 2013 regular meeting. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. BID UNDER ADVISEMENT Enterprise Resource Planning System Mrs. Murray stated that this item will remain under advisement. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Recommendation for Award-Utility Emergency Repairs Program 2013-2014 Jenny Leshney, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Recommendation for Award for the Utility Emergency Repairs Program 2013-2014. The program is awarded to Bowen Engineering, Milestone Contractors and Atlas Excavating for the rates of future emergency work during the period of October 1, 2013 to October 1, 2014. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Change Order #2-Veteran’s Memorial Parkway & Wabash National Signal Project Mrs. Leshney presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Change Order #2 for the Veteran’s Memorial Parkway & Wabash National Signal Project. The change order is an increase in the amount of $4,238.64 which brings the new contract amount to $107,491.28. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Release of Covenant for Deed Restrictions-300 Washington Street, Lafayette Indiana Mrs. Jacobsen presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Covenant for Deed Restrictions for 300 Washington Street, Lafayette Indiana. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Release of Mortgage-1804 Arcadia, Lafayette Indiana Mrs. Jacobsen presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Mortgage for 1804 Arcadia, Lafayette Indiana. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Release of Covenant for Deed Restrictions-1804 Arcadia, Lafayette Indiana Mrs. Jacobsen presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Covenant for Deed Restrictions for 1804 Arcadia, Lafayette Indiana. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $6,205,966.94. Mrs. Murray asked if there were any further questions other than the ones that were asked and answered in caucus, there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed.
