BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES August 5, 2014 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress and Dawn Ross. Absent: Ron Shriner Ed Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the July 29, 2014 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Corrected Change Order #1-2014 N. 18th Street Curb Replacement Project Jenny Leshney, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Corrected Change Order #1 for the 2014 N. 18th Street Curb Replacement Project. Mrs. Leshney stated that she is correcting a change order that was approved on July 29, 2014 due to the wrong revised contract amount. The corrected amount is $154,158.25. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Paula King, Controller’s Office, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $4,596,944.11. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. MISCELLANEOUS Special Event Request-Labor Family Day at the Park President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Labor Family Day at the park to be held on August 30, 2014 from 10:00am-4:00pm at Columbian Park. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Special Event Request-Light Up Riehle Plaza President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Light Up Riehle Plaza to be held on October 7, 2014 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Riehle Plaza Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety August 5, 2014 Page 2 Special Event Request-German Fest President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for German Fest to be held on September 6, 2014 from 2:30pm-1:00midnight at St. Boniface Church and surrounding area. There was an addendum submitted prior to the Board of Works meeting. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed.
