BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES June 6, 2017 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Cindy Murray, Norm Childress, Dawn Ross and Ron Shriner. Absent: Gary Henriott Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. Mrs. Murray called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Ross moved for approval of the minutes from the May 30, 2017 regular meeting. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. BID OPENING South Street & Columbia Street Resurfacing Project 2017 This being the time set to open bids for South Street & Columbia Street Resurfacing Project 2017, the following bids were received and opened: Rieth-Riley Construction Lafayette, Indiana Base Bid: $1,534,327.14 Alternate #1: $602,866.45 Milestone Contractors Lafayette, Indiana Base Bid: $1,487,000.00 Alternate #1: $558,000.00 Midwest Paving, Inc Noblesville, Indiana Base Bid: $1,305,085.61 Alternate #1: $512,385.71 Mr. Shriner moved to take the bids under advisement for further review. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS none Board of Public Works and Safety June 6, 2017 Page 2 CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $702,707.77. Mrs. Murray asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. MISCELLANEOUS Special Event Request-Club Newtone 5K Mrs. Murray presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Club Newtone 5K to be held on July 8, 2017 from 8:00-10:30am on Union Street from Club Newtone to Munger Park. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Special Event Request-St. Boniface Eucharistic Procession Mrs. Murray presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the St. Boniface Eucharistic Procession to be held on June 18, 2017 from 7:30-7:50pm on the streets surrounding the St. Boniface campus. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed.
