BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES September 12, 2017 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Norm Childress, Cindy Murray, Ron Shriner and Dawn Ross. Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Murray moved for approval of the minutes from the September 5, 2017 regular meeting. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. BID OPENING Structure Demolition-615 Wabash Avenue and 1327 Columbia Street This being the time set to open bids for Structure Demolition at 615 Wabash Avenue and 1327 Columbia Street, the following bids were received and opened: Metzger Excavating Company LLC Thorntown, Indiana Base Bid: $27,520.00 KA Contracting LLC Lafayette, Indiana Base Bid: $55,000.00 Mr. Shriner moved to take the bids under advisement for further review. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS There is none. CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $2,541,649.81. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety September 12, 2017 Page 2 MISCELLANEOUS Special Event Request- YWCA Women’s Cancer Program President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the YWCA Women’s Cancer Program and Lighting Ceremony to be held on October 3, 2017 from 6:00pm- 7:00pm at Riehle Plaza and the John T. Myers Bridge. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Special Event Request- Halloween Town Community Dance President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Halloween Town Community Dance to be held on October 27, 2017 from 12:00pm-9:00pm at Riehle Plaza and the Big Four Depot Community Room. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed.
