BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES March 6, 2018 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress, Dawn Ross and Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the February 27, 2018 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Purchasing Declaration of Surplus Property-Sanitation Department Dave Payne, Purchasing Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus Property for a 2005 Lodal EVO T28-C275 Garbage Truck VIN 1L9AS6AB15K006865. Mr. Payne stated that it will be sold for scrap. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Declaration of Surplus Property-Facilities Department Mr. Payne presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus Property for 5 unserviceable desks. Mr. Payne stated that they will be sold for scrap. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Declaration of Worthless Property-Facilities Department Mr. Payne presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Worthless Property for 5 unserviceable desk chairs. Mr. Payne stated that they will be thrown away. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $4,025,658.42. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety March 6, 2018 Page 2 MISCELLANEOUS Special Event Request-Open House for Sharp Graduation President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for a High School Graduation Open House to be held on June 2, 2018 from 8:00am-2:00pm at the Big 4 Depot and Riehle Plaza. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed.
