BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES November 20, 2018 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress and Amy Moulton. Absent: Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Murray moved for approval of the minutes from the November 13, 2018 regular meeting. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Lafayette Renew Contract-South 30th Street Drainage Improvements Project Brad Talley, Renew Superintendent, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Contract for South 30th Street Drainage Improvement Project with Bowen Engineering. The project will address chronic drainage concerns including significant street flooding. The Guaranteed Maximum Price for this project is $1,973,250.00. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Notice to Proceed-South 30th Street Drainage Improvement Project Mr. Talley presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Notice to Proceed for the South 30th Street Drainage Improvements Project. The notice to proceed starts today, substantial completion is scheduled for June 30, 2019 and final completion is scheduled for July 31, 2019. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Lafayette Housing Authority Agreement between Lafayette Housing Consortium and Faith Community Development Corporation 2017 Project #1-Longlois Valerie Oakley, Project Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of an Agreement between the Lafayette Housing Consortium and Faith Community Development Corporation 2017 Project #1 3110 Longlois. The agreement provides up to $83,966.00 for the acquisition and renovation of 3110 Longlois Drive from Faith CDC’s 2017 ($46,300.00) and 2018 ($37,666.00) HOME awards. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety November 20, 2018 Page 2 Agreement between Lafayette Housing Consortium and Faith Community Development Corporation CHDO Operating Funds Agreement 2018-2019 Mrs. Oakley presented to the Board and recommended approval of an Agreement between Lafayette Housing Consortium and Faith Community Development Corporation CHDO Operating Funds 2018- 2019. The agreement is in the amount of $21,309.00 for the operating funds through the HUD HOME program for planning and implementing housing projects. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Tim Clary, Deputy Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $1,017,023.20. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed.
