MINUTES
September 10, 2019
Regular Session:
The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. in the
Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress, Amy
Moulton and Ron Shriner
Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present.
President Henriott called the meeting to order.
The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country.
MINUTES
Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the September 3, 2019 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray
seconded. Passed.
NEW BUSINESS
Lafayette Renew
Notice to Proceed-Service Area 21 Water & Sewer Extension Phase I
Brad Talley, Renew Superintendent, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Notice to Proceed for
the Service Area 21 Water & Sewer Extension Phase I with Atlas Excavating that will start on September 16,
2019. The substantial completion is set for August 16, 2020 and the final completion is set for September 15,
2020. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed.
Engineering
Recommendation for Award-2019 Pavement Markings
Jeromy Grenard, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a
Recommendation for Award for the 2019 Pavement Markings with RoadSafe Traffic Systems in the amount of
$95,070.00. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed.
Contract-2019 Pavement Markings
Mr. Grenard presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Contract for the 2019 Pavement Markings
with RoadSafe Traffic Systems in the amount of $95,070.00. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress
seconded. Passed.
Notice to Proceed-2019 Pavement Markings
Mr. Grenard presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Notice to Proceed for the 2019 Pavement
Markings that is effective immediately. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed.

Purchasing
Declaration of Surplus Property-Purchasing
Dave Payne, Purchasing Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus
Property for the Purchasing Department. The surplus property includes seventeen (17) phones that have been
replaced. These items will be sold. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed.
Declaration of Surplus Property-Fire Department
Mr. Payne presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus Property for the Fire
Department. The surplus property includes a 1997 Ford Bluebird 66 psgr bus VIN#1FDPB80C1VVA07756 City
ID# none and a 1999 Chevrolet Bluebird 66 psgr bus VIN#1GBLT1D9XJ105172 City ID# none. These vehicles
will be listed for sale on govdeals.com. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed.
CLAIMS
Tim Clary, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $1,362,521.25. President Henriott
asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Shriner
seconded. Passed.
