BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES February 9, 2021 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Amy Moulton, Norm Childress and Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the February 2, 2021 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Change Order #8-Twyckenham Blvd Reconstruction Jeromy Grenard, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Change Order #8 for the Twyckenham Blvd Reconstruction. The change order is to reconcile quantities with only a few punch-list items remaining to finish first thing this spring. The change order is an increase in the amount of $4,056.51 which brings the revised contract amount to $3,509,912.20. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Change Order #8-Loeb Stadium Bid Package 1 (General Trades) Mr. Grenard presented to the Board and recommended approval of Change Order #8 for Loeb Stadium Bid Package 1 for General Trades with J.R. Kelly Company, Inc. The change order includes additions and deductions for the project for a total change order deduction of $5,489.00 which brings the revised contract amount to $10,531,595.00. Discussion ensued. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Lafayette Renew Certificate of Completion-Wastewater Treatment Plant Capacity Increase Improvements Project Brad Talley, Renew Superintendent, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Certificate of Completion for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Capacity Increase Improvements Project. Mr. Talley stated that the Treatment Plant has increase the overall capacity by 27%. The final completion date is January 29, 2021. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety February 9, 2021 Page 2 CLAIMS Tim Clary, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $762,245.96. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. MISCELLANEOUS Mayor Roswarski thanked Brad Talley and his team for all the work that went into the Treatment Plant Increase Capacity Project. Mayor Roswarski briefly spoke about the cost effectiveness and growth potential of the project. Mayor Roswarski thanked several members/employees of the City of Lafayette for their leadership of the 14 ‘Small Businesses’ that the City is going to help through the pandemic. The City of Lafayette will be helping the 14 businesses with approximately $419,000.00 of funding. Mayor Roswarski stated that the City of Lafayette has given out around $1million dollars to help the local small businesses. The Mayor showed the Board a video that went hand-in-hand with his State of the City Address that was presented to the Common Council earlier this month. Discussion ensued regarding the video.
