BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES November 22, 2022 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress and Amy Moulton. Absent: Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the November 15, 2022 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Fire Department Fire Contract for Fire Protection and Emergency Services to the Unincorporated Area of Fairfield Township Fire Chief, Richard Doyle, presented to the Board and recommended approval of the Fire Contract for Fire Protection and Emergency Services to the Unincorporated Area of Fairfield Township. The contract is in the amount of $100,000.00. Discussion ensued regarding the areas of service and how these funds are spent. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Parks Department Certificate of Substantial Completion-CAT Park All-Inclusive Sports Field Jon Miner, Parks Department, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Certificate of Substantial Completion for the CAT Park All-Inclusive Sports Field with HP Legacy. The date of substantial completion was September 7, 2022. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Certificate of Substantial Completion-Columbian Park Restroom Project Mr. Miner presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Certificate of Substantial Completion for the Columbian Park Restroom Project with HP Legacy. The date of substantial completion was October 21, 2022. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Jeremy Diehl, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $3,662,732.70. President Henriott asked if there were any questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety November 22, 2022 Page 2 MISCELLANEOUS Special Event Request-Shop Small Saturday at Ritual Carli Lewis, Event Representative, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Shop Small Saturday at Ritual to be held on November 26, 2022 from 4pm-9pm in the two parking spots in front of Ritual for overflow seating. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Special Event Request-Very Merry Main Street Christmas Parade Mrs. Murray presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Very Merry Main Street Christmas Parade to be held on December 3, 2022 from 12:00noon-8:00pm in Downtown Lafayette from 11th Street to Riehle Plaza on Main Street. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. Special Event Request-Downtown Shop Small Party Night Mark Lowe, Event Representative, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Downtown Shop Small Party Night to be held on November 26, 2022 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Riehle Plaza. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed.
